Itinerary

DAY 1: HANOI ARRIVAL (--)

Upon arriving in Hanoi, Asia Top Travel’s tour guide will personally meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is time at leisure.

If you arrive early in the day, you can add the optional evening street food tour or a cultural show to experience the best thing of our interesting city.

DAY 2:HANOI CITY TOUR - LAO CAI (B/ L/ D)

In the morning, a 45 minute Cyclo Tour takes you through the Old Quarter of Hanoi. The old quarter is also known as the 36 streets and guilds, this bustling area of narrow streets is home to literally thousands of small businesses and shopkeepers. Originally each of the street’s names was related to the products being sold there.

Move to Ho Chi Minh Complex including Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, the Presidential Palace, His House-on-Stilts, One Pillar pagoda…

Visit the Temple of Literature – a temple to Confucius, this is also known as Vietnam’s first University dating back to 1070.

Lunch at a local restaurant.

 Enjoy a 4 hours drive along the new highway to Lao Cai. Then take another hour ransfer to Bac Ha town.

Arrive your hotel in the late afternoon at about 6:00 – 6:30pm

DAY 3:BAC HA SUNDAY MARKET - HOANG SU PHI (B/ L/ D)

Located 110km from Sapa, Bac Ha mountain town is well-known by travelers with the most colorful market of the hill tribes in the North of Vietnam. This every-Sunday-market is attended by at least 8 ethnic groups. It is also a chance to discover the H’mong King’s palace (old building built by the French & Chinese). Transfer towards Hoang Su Phi. Make stops on the way to take photos of the landscape and short walks to visit some village.  Upon arrival at Thong Nguyen a trekking point to Nam Hong village and embark on a short trek (about 2 hours) to a Red Yao village for the home-stay.

DAY 4:HOANG SU PHI TREK (B/ L/ D)

This morning, after the breakfast at the hotel. We trek on the scenic dirt trail up and down the rice terraces in Ban Luoc area. This is one of the national rice terrace heritage cores in Hoang Su Phi. The beauty of the landscape is at its best in yellow season (early half of October). Get picked up by your car for a short transfer to Vinh Quang town.

Lunch is at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, enjoy a beautiful drive to Nam Son commune where you will start another trek (2 hours) uphill to a homestay of different ethnic minority. Dinner and overnight at a local house.

DAY 5:DAY 05: HOANG SU PHI - HA GIANG - QUAN BA - YEN MINH - DONG VAN (B/ L/ D)

Drive from Hoang Su Phi to Dong Van via to Ha Giang city, Yen Minh & Quan Ba. The scenery today is spectacular – a vast limestone mountain range and perpendicular walls of rock. You’ll call in at the infamous Vuong Palace, once the home of a high-ranking H’mong family during French colonial rule. Stop at Quan Ba twin mountain and heaven gate. Today you have many chances to take pictures of Vietnam’s outstanding landscape. Arrive to Dong Van in the late afternoon and check-in at your hotel.

Dinner is served at a local restaurant.

DAY 06:DONG VAN - MEO VAC - BA BE (B/ L/ D)

In the morning, travel to Ba Be. The scenery is spectacular and the road runs along the sides of the mountains. Stop en-route to take pictures of Ma Pi Leng pass, the most spectacular pass of the Northeast Vietnam.

Tonight you will have a dinner and stay at Pac Ngoi village, where Tay people are living. (The Tay people is one of the 54 Vietnamese group who still keep living very traditional style). You will have a chance to enjoy a delicious dinner made by Tay woman. Overnight in stilt house.

DAY 07:BA BE LAKE - HANOI (B/ L/ --)

Breakfast will be served before setting off for your boat trip in Ba Be National Park. Travel on a private boat on the Ba Be Lake first visiting the Puong Cave, famous for its thousands of bats. Continue down the Nang river to see the Dau Dang Waterfall. Head to Cho Ra for lunch.

In the afternoon, drive back to Hanoi.

DAY 08:HANOI - HALONG BAY (B/ L/ D)

09:00-09:30: Pick up at your hotel in Ha Noi by private car. After that we leave Hanoi for a 2.5 hour to reach Halong Bay.

12:00′ – 12:30′: At Tuan Chau International Marina, a tender boat will take you to Halong Phoenix Cruiser. A refreshing welcome drink is served and you can check into your cabin.

13:00′: When you are putting all of your stuffs into your cabin, our boat starts gliding out to the centre of the World Heritage Site. Your lunch, at the boat’s restaurant, is would be served with fresh local seafood, but vegetable menu is always available at your request. From the marina area, our cruiser passes by Dog Head and Swan Islands, Ba Hang Floating villages (with floating houses), Incense Burner then Thumb Islands before reaching to Luon cave area for kayaking.

14:30′ – 15:00′: We have time to gear up for one hour kayaking around Luon cave area. Our guide will show you some basic safety guidelines and techniques to paddle before helping you to sit on our brand new sit-on-top kayaks. After that our boat will help you visit the Titop Island one hour for swimming, sun-bathing or getting a panoramic view on island peak.

17:00′: As the sun sets over the bay, we head back to our cruise and relax. Coffee, tea and fruits will be available on the sundeck or you can order your favorite drink while our boat cruises to the night’s anchorage area.

19:00′: Dinner will be served with local seafood. After dinner you may choose to enjoy drinks from the bar or top deck or experience squid fishing before retiring.

DAY 09:HALONG BAY - HANOI (B/ L/ --)

07:00′ – 07:45′: Enjoy the morning view of the beautiful landscape with a cup of coffee or tea. Have breakfast in the fresh air.

08:00′ – 09:00′:You will visit the impressive Cave of Halong Bay – Surprising Cave (Sửng Sốt) with your tour guide, a truly awesome and amazing cave to experience.

10:00′:Check out of your cabin and settle your bill as our boat begins cruising back to the harbor. Experience more views of Halong Bay such as Fighting Cocks Island (Symbol of Halong Bay), Incense Burner and Stone Dogs Islands.

10:20′:A cooking demonstration onboard shows you how to make authentic Vietnamese Spring rolls. You will learn about the recipes and techniques that create this popular dish of Vietnamese people.

10:45′:Lunch is served on board during cruising towards the harbor.

11:20′: Depart the Halong Phoenix Cruiser and travel by tender boat back to Tuan Chau International Marina where you then board the bus for your return journey to Hanoi. Arrive at your hotel around 15.00.

The rest of the day is free at your leisure.

DAY 10:HANOI DEPARTURE (B/ --/ --)

Breakfast is served at your hotel. Transfer to Noi Bai Airport for your onward flight.

FAQs: Visa, Reservation, Payment

1.Do I need to arrange the Visa to Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia?

– Cambodia Visa

You can get a Cambodia visa stamp upon arrival without pre-arrangements. You only need to pay a USD$25 fee (this fee maybe differ depending on the nationality of passport holder) and 2 pictures for each traveler. You can then expect about 15 minutes for processing at the airport.

– Laos Visa

You can get a Laos visa stamp upon arrival without pre-arrangements. You only need to pay a USD$25 fee (this fee maybe differ depending on the nationality of passport holder) and 2 pictures for each traveler. You can then expect about 15 minutes for processing at the airport.

– Vietnam Visa

Unlike Cambodia or Laos, before entry into Vietnam, you must have a Vietnam visa stamp or a Vietnam visa on arrival pre-approved letter. A tourist visa for Vietnam can be obtained from any Vietnam embassy or consulate office worldwide. This visa is valid for 30 days and can be extended through our head office in Vietnam.

– Special Notes

Please make sure that you have your passport, that your passport is still valid for six months and contains two white pages. Upon receiving the pre-approved visa, we will send it to you right away. Kindly print it out and show it when needed. Upon arrival at Vietnam’s airport, expect to fill out a simple form. Kindly prepare two photos, USD$ 25 for stamp fees per person for single entry Visa, USD$50 for multiple entry visa and expect a 15 minutes wait time.

2.How far ahead I can book?

You can book as far as 24 months in advance, but please ensure you remember you have made the reservation. We will charge USD$100 non-refundable deposit and require full payment 30 days before departure. You can expect to receive the invoice as a reminder well in advance of your trip.

3.How is the latest time that I can make the reservation?

We can only guarantee bookings made at least 5- working days (not including weekend) before the departure date.

4.How long will I get your first proposal?

Upon receiving your request, you will receive the first acknowledgement to reassure you that we are giving your request immediate attention. Rest assured that your request is always our top priority. The full detailed proposal will be in your inbox no later than 24 hours or within 48 hours in the case of public holidays or special events.

5.How do I reserve my trip with you?

Just complete and send the reservation form making sure that you have given us your e-mail address and a valid credit card number. As soon as we receive your request we will contact your chosen hotel to confirm the reservation. It is our policy to reply to all requests within 24 hours. Please read our terms and conditions before making payment.

6.How do I process the booking with you?

In order to confirm your booking, you are kindly requested to deposit 20% of the total cost. After you have made the transfer, please send us a copy of bank receipt to follow with our bank. When the remittent reach our account, we will start to lock in services. The normal process for the remittent to reach our account is about 2 to 3 working days.
